My wife's sister lives up around Fort Worth so occasionally I'll swing by the Brazos river below Lake Whitney on my way to drop off or pick her up from a weekend visit.

Enjoyed the video. I have also seen plenty of first year bass in the creeks I fish. Looks like the bass had a great spawn! thumb

I'm glad I ran across this video.

My dad was born (1924) and raised in this area. (long before the dam) He grew up at Smith Bend.
I remember (as far back I can) going camping with the family almost every weekend in the summers.
We had permission to go anywhere along the river as my dad knew all the old families there.
I remember shooting a squirrel the first time I shoot a gun.

Waking up and swimming as breakfast was cooking, eating then seining minnows for bait.
Cooling off in the afternoon in shady spots in the river.

You brought back many memories...I thank you from the bottom of my heart,

Danny
