Took the fiance out this morning, nearly 8 months pregnant but she can still catch some fish! The sandbass were out in full force. Chasing shad and blowing up on top. Got into 2 different large schools on top. They were chasing them from about 10-15fow up into 1-2fow. Everything was caught on #4 mepps and a top water popper. And for Joe Pool we caught some decent fish. Probably about 50% were keepers and a few were about 13-14in, we boated between 40&50. All were returned to fight another day.

Thanks. I live maybe 10mins from the ramp. Wasn't expecting to catch much of anything or do much fishing. We manly went just to boat ride. Then bam, they were everywhere 😏

Nice when that happens. You should see my wife roll her eyes when we are out and just running around when a school pops up.

Joe Pool isn't known for being a great sandbass lake by any means. But theres still plenty of them in the lake, just not many big ones. Most of them arent even legal size, but for every 10 or so you can normally get a keeper.
