Left the kayak and ultralights at home and fished a private pond with owners permission. Fished this past Thursday and Friday and used my 4 weight fly rod both days. Caught plenty of sunfish which included Bluegill and Green Sunfish. Also caught some nice Bass in the 2 to 3 pound range. I used a variety of flies and the Wacky Worm,brown in color and a sinking Red Lady Bug got the best results. The Bluegill were all in the 6 to 8 inch range and were fat and full of fight. Fished from 8am till around 12 noon each day. The pond is spring fed and in pretty good shape. The deepest part of the pond is 10 feet. Good grass beds and there is a rock bank on one side. Also two big Oak Trees next to the pond that provides some nice shade. It's hard to beat fishing a nice pond and catching some fish on the fly!

Laker...Nice...reminds me of my younger days fishing ponds around the Zorn area.

Pond fishing is fun and you never know when a big fish will show up.

Sounds like a great day and getting to do it on the fly rod makes it a little more special.
Bet you will replay this trip a few times when either can't get out or not doing so well on the water.
