News last night that McQueeny residents and business owners filing suit to stop draining. Accuse GBRA of misappropriation of funds over the years, and that lakes/dams are safe enough to repair without draining. No mention of having a public access to the water although they want tax money to repair dams. Injunction being filed to halt next weeks draining.

I don't think there is a judge anywhere that will grant an injunction to stop draining. GBRA played the safety card and with the video of the Dunlap gate failure, a judge would be nuts to grant an injunction. What I have seen, the McQueeny residents want to tax themselves to purchase and repair the dam. And if that is what they want to do, so be it. But GBRA still needs to be dissolved and the assets and responsibility given to a real river authority.

Either open up to public access/repair with tax dollars, or fund privately and maintain within the community without Govt assistance.

A judge granted an injunction probably wonโt last long though.

You wouldn't have said that several years ago when Mark Rose ran LCRA and had plans to set a noise ordinance, speed limit and a power boat band every other day on Travis.

I misspoke, meant undeveloped. Technically any of the land and access of the GBRA is public as it is a subsidiary of the State of Texas.
The folks mad about no public access should be mad at the same people the homeowners are mad at but for different reasons. This is government failure on all ends. It is a public entity acting as a for-profit private enterprise.

I am sure I would agree with you Photo but at least Travis still has water in it. There is inconsiderate and unrealistic (apparently Mark Rose) and there is complete mismanagement/negligence (GBRA). GBRA has consistently chosen to disregard its charters and the concerns of any other shareholders within the state other than those that benefit from the profits. The class action lawsuit was trying to get complete financials from GBRA back into the 90's including political contributions. I doubt this will ever go to court but if it does, there will be heck to pay if what is suspected is true. I am not sure of what has happened but when a request for historical political contributions is made, you can only imagine what may have happened. I hope I am wrong.

When the Lake Wood folks tried to clean up the lake bed in front of their properties, GBRA threatened them with trespassing charges.

When the Lake Wood folks tried to clean up the lake bed in front of their properties, GBRA threatened them with trespassing charges. If the lake front property owners property line ended at the pool level water line of the old lake bed, then yes they are guilty of trespassing. This is what happened to Medina lake years ago as more development took place on the upper end of the lake, when the lake would go down during the dry years. The more waterfront houses went up, the more habitat fell to the chainsaws. All you need for water skiing is a bowl, but not much good for fishing.
Just one more cast!

This is just another example of GBRA not telling the truth.
