Motors need to be run. I would rather have 500 hrs than 29 on a motor that old

I had an issue with similar sounding symptoms (though not nearly as bad from what it sounds like) and replacing the fuel pump made a night and day difference for me.

Its an easy job to do yourself, doesn't take long, and isn't too expensive.

I am not a mechanic though, just relaying what worked for me with a very similar sounding problem.

Mine was a 2003 with 42 hours.....low low hours is HORRIBLE on fuel systems.
