Headed to Texoma yesterday with some friends to fish. Plan was to meet up with Trey, catch bait and go thump some deep structure. We linked up as planned but could not find bait in our usual spot. Headed toward the dam and it looked like every boat on the lake was in front of the dam or on the south shore. The Striper were pushing the bait up against the shore and there was a bunch of top water action. We threw some top waters and swimbaits then continued the search for bait. We weren’t having any luck so Trey took off to Mac creek and we continued the search. Finally found the shad and caught enough in one cast to go fish for the day.
We headed to table top and marked a few fish. Started thumping and 10 min later had a bunch of fish on the screen but no fish on board. Gave Trey a call and he already had five so away we went. We set up about 40 yards from Trey and started marking fish. Between the two of our boats we would catch a fish every 3-5 min with one time when both boats had three anglers hooked up simultaneously. We fished there most of the morning and caught 7 of our overs and a few box fish. We also lost several nice fish for random reasons.
Later in the morning we tried a couple of spots before heading to the final spot where we caught our last three overs and a couple more box fish. We also caught two more overs including our best fish of the day which unfortunately had to be released. Here are a few pictures!
