Boyd Duckett has won one classic,4 BASS tourney wins,21 top 10 finshes,60 top 30 finishes and won over 1.7 million....this is a guy who started with nothing and made himself into a multi millionaire.....
He and gary Klein started MLF and in three years, it is already the #1 rated outdoor show....and probably his greatest achievement is contracting with 5 TV networks that will show 850 hours of MLF fishing....this is a huge increase of television exposure and income that will allow current and future MLF fishermen to share the total revenue instead of primarily fishing for their own money...…
the future looks really good because high school and college fishing is showing huge growth and it's going to create fans out of parents, relatives and friends....another plus for MLF is that it doesn't try to hold tournys on the weekend when our lakes are crowded and doesn't publicize their tournys so they don't have to deal with hundreds of spectator boats affecting the outcome......don't let a small crowd at their weigh-in fool you,the big picture is that several hundred thousand are watching on television....
if MLF turns out to be a success,in the years to come, there's going to be a lot of young guys who can thank Boyd Duckett for pioneering a tournament concept that allows them to make a good living at fishing..

Lol. They better be sending Kronke a pie of the month membership at the holidays. He’s the big baller in this deal.

None of the BPT anglers are hurting as far as finances go. They may be butt hurt over how they fished but not paying entry fees allowed them to put all that sponsor money in their pocket for cost of living expenses, travel, beer and wild women, etc.

Beside all the talk about the money have any of you been listening to the anglers themselves.

1-was so bored with the same old 5 fish format
2-just being on the cut line brings whole new challenge for me
3 getting to count every fish I catch is outstanding
4 not having to race in at the end
5 never have I seemed so pressured to find fish and catch them
6- the score tracker helps me
7- the score tracker gets on my nerves

Mostly the veterans seem to enjoy the new format after 30-40 years of the same ole. But even the new guys seem to be liking the program and except for one angler I have heard only one complain in public.
Mostly about the pressure it puts on himself.

Lol, guy misses one championship event and now no one's seen him lately...

Mark,
Come on now... you know that's not what I said.
I have two boys that love to fish...one fished in college for this school and the youngest is fishing in high school and doing well. They were watching a rerun of one of the 3-4 championships that MLF has and KVD was an announcer. They asked me and I said I don't know, I haven't been able to watch many, but I haven't seen him on it much at all?

By the way, I walked through the living room 10 minutes later and they were gone...when I asked them why they weren't going to watch MLF, they both said "its boring...same dinkfest it usually is".
The kids have learned something from MLF though....they always get a laugh when they hook a small fish, they start saying "freaking MLF giant dude...."...now you know that's funny

Kids that like fishing don't watch MLF or BASS, they watch the googans on youtube.

or Pornhub

I spit my coffee all over my desk on that one....LOL
