I recently upgraded 2 of my batteries for my trolling motor to Optima (AGM style) and motor battery is a flooded style. With this change I bought a new onboard 3 bank charger. My question is it ok to have the mixed type of batteries on the charger? I will probably buy a 3rd optima once I sell old 2 bank charger. Just wanted to know for short term use if it’s ok.

What does your charger manual say?

It says it can charge flooded, AGM but doesn’t mention anything about mixing types. Also, searched around and can’t find anyone asking this type of question.

Flooded and AGM take the same charging profile, wont hurt anything. Also on most new smart chargers each bank charges independently. I have a ProMariner connected to 2 AGM's for my trolling motor and a wet cell cranking battery. Been working fine for over 2 years now.
