Hey Fellas,

I fished a club tournament this Weekend at Texoma.. We launched from the dam site about 6am.. Fishing was pretty tough on everyone and we finished in 6th.. To add insult to injury, when I went to start my truck, it sounded like an open headed dragster.. You see, someone decided to relieve me of my catalytic converter, yes, they rolled under my truck and cut the exhaust pipe in 2 places to get it out.. Beware of of parking at the Dam.. Just wanted to let everyone know.. After filing my police report, they told there had been a rash of these type of thefts recently..

I heard of some crazy chit being stolen, but this just might top it off.

Just weld a straight pipe to it. You don't need it anyway

The converter has some semi precious metals in them, I’d guess they bring a pretty good chunk of change at a scrap yard. .....and yeh, you kinda need them to remain emissions compliant.

That's a damn shame, no pun intended. Unbelievable what people will steal.

My son and I were fishing the same tournament and sat in the parking lot for nearly 3 hrs waiting for weigh in and never saw anything suspicious. It would've taken some serious commitment though because it was storming the entire time we were sitting there.

Yeah, I think this probably happened early in the Morning as we launched around 6am.. Of course, I didn't do myself any favors parking my truck in the far corner of the lot..

Those battery powered reciprocating saws make short work of things like that .
Two or three of those and they got crack for awhile.

I hate a thief!!!

Check rockauto.com. I did a quick look and converters for late model Silverados and F-150s range from $200-$450. Any muffler shop could probably weld the new one in for a hundy.

20 years of owning boats and the only time I ever had anything stolen was at the dam ramp at Texoma. Had a spare stolen off a Skeeter in 2004 or so. I’d say that was probably pretty good for that many years but I spent a small fortune locking stuff up ever after that.
