I am trying to get out on texoma Tuesday morning early since I’ve heard about all the schooling fish. I’m trying to get some eaters and don’t really know a whole lot about the lake. I’ve heard to launch near Eisenhower and head towards the dam. I’ve also heard of a place called tabletop? I plan on taking toowaters, crankbaits, Slabs and jig heads and flukes to dead stick or to drop down and catch them. Should I be using shad this time of year? I’m sorry for all the questions but I don’t get up to texoma much. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I can tell you where not to go. We stayed at Sheppard Annex last weekend and I fished all three days between the scattered showers and wind. I trolled umbrella rig threw Swimbait and every lure I had. I mostly stayed on Oklahoma side around Willis Bridge and only caught one over 20. I did run jug lines all weekend to and caught 16 nice blue cat in between striper fishing. Going back next month I think I am going to launch by dam and take every ones advice.

Schoolies have been across from first point by Eisenhower to tabletop. Here are pictures or you can look at sixoldgeezers.com for their map. Check out my videos thump’emupfishingchannel on YouTube for some recent trips and locations. Call me if any questions!

TOO far west for this time of year. Sheppard is good in winter months when they start to head upstream. To the OP. Dead sticking is a cold weather tactic. It works in cold weather because the shad move slower. This is the time of year when lures can out fish shad. I fished Tawokoni more last 2 years in August than I did Texoma. On Tawokoni starting about the end of August the stripers and hybrids would hardly look at a shad.

Heading up there On Tuesday the day after Labor Day. Any tips on where to start? I'll be dragging my kayak up there and wanted to get some pointers on a general area to work since I won't be able to cover alot of ground. Also not get ran over by all the boats out there. Dove season will be in full effect. Hopefully that keep the boat traffic down. Pm me if you want to keep it on the low. Thanks

There seemed to be a parking lot by the dam that you could launch from. You could launch there and fish near the dam.
