Grandpa passed away 2 years ago and I inherited his boat. He didn’t have a will but family gave It to me. Anywho, somewhere in all the moving of stuff, someone has misplaced the title. It’s a 15’ duracraft stick steer.
Anyone know what I need to do to get It registered?

Someone, his kids, inherited the estate. They will have to have a attorney draw up the paper work to get the title in your name.

A brother gave me a boat that some woman had won in a raffle. She gave it to him. Then he gave it to me. This was over 5 or 6 years. There was no title in anyone’s name and it was in Louisiana, not Texas. I called the state folks and got no useful answer. Then I drove over to the Waco office to discuss the issue of getting it registered in my name and gave them the sum total of what I had. I was in maximum charm mode, and the lady told me what I needed (and didn’t have). I went home, took the pictures she wanted and gathered all the info I had. We got it registered and put the numbers and such on it. I’ve always wondered whether or not I’d have gotten it done if she had been in a bad mood. So...be nice!

I probably had the same person! Trying to register a 3rd party boat. She filled out the form and said "Just have him sign this and come right back.". Not gonna' say what I did, but I got the boat and motor titled and registered. The trailer, though, was a whole 'nuther story.
