Burgerboy maybe I'm the odd man out, but I pay to go to the Dallas Safari Club expo and a couple gun shows a year and I am THE definition of a non-diehard. I haven't bought a gun in maybe 6-7 years, haven't bought a hunting license since maybe 2016, I just like getting out and people watching and I think you still get a lot of those and don't think a $10 fee is gonna stop us (and certainly $9 beers don't). I think you are splitting hairs but I follow you. You are an outdoorsman and so while you may not have hunted the last two or three years, I bet you have hunted lots of times. Show me an angler that does not own a gun or two ? I am not hear to argue it or split hairs, what I am getting at, as the free expo, would I pay yes? Would most of us ? Yes. Would the average family of four pay $10 each and then a $9 beer? Maybe but I do not think it is likely. I invited a family that lived down the street from me in the Denton area, and had relocated to Conroe in Feb. There was no expo just a post game where we all know the end results. They had a total of 6 with two that reasonably would not be charged if this was a hunting show etc. But say it was a full on expo, I do not think they would nec. give it a try for $10 a piece. I may be wrong, but I doubt it. From a fans point, we should be thankful things like a FLW Cup , a Classic or a Redcrest are free to the fans by way of sponsorship dollars. It is good for everyone. Now you could say the guys are not being paid but I would argue they got paid when they became sponsored. It is all wonderful thought and reminds me of the article that Kevin Short did that the sport is basically until MLF came a long ,a sport to play for your own money.

I love to fish. But I cant watch "professional" fishing on TV. It's slow, and boring. There are a lot of sports where 'diehards' try to make a living ... living the dream. I can see the fun and challenge of being a weekend warrior, or a club fisherman, I understand that. But there's no money in Professional fishing for most of the entrants....Tough way to try and feed a family.
