I hesitate to ask this question, because it has probably been asked a dozen times before. Still, the technology changes so fast that last years answer probably isnt the right answer today. Right now I have Lowrance Hook2-5 units on the boat. They are not intuitive, and they are small and non-touch. I want better, and rewiring will be necessary no matter what I get.

So, lets talk 9 inch screens or something close, easy to figure out, and touch sensitive. I dont want to spend the big live screen $ just yet. I plan to wait a generation or two till prices fall and technology rises.

Dont let this be an argument like Ford/Chevy/Dodge. Just tell me what you have and does it work well for you and would you buy it again. I have no favorite, so I am open to suggestion. Thanks.

I run the Lowrance Live units, one of them being a 9-inch unit. The Active Imaging sidescan is excellent. With the LiveSight and the trolling motor coming soon, I would go with either Elite Ti9-2 or Live. The Elite Ti-2 is a great way to get into a full feature touch screen at reasonable cost. Note you have to go to Carbon or Live in the Lowrance product line to work with LiveSight technology.

I've read about a lot of problems with the elite ti-2. Have they solved that problem yet? I'm about to but a new fishfinder next week as mine was stolen. Not sure what would be the best one to get. I'm looking at a helix 8 si/di, lowrance hds live 7, lowrance elite 7 si/di . Which do you think has the clearest screen?

Keep in mind if you want to link to trolling motor.... MK to birds and Lowrance to MG.
