Any Texas guys go up and fish Lake Ouachita in Arkansas? I'm going up this weekend. Any suggestions of where to fish or style to fish would be appreciated.

Went there early last October. Dropshot points and humps anywhere from 10-25 FOW.

Don't expect much honestly. It doesn't put out much during summer.
Agree with blackhawk, plan on drop shotting deep brush piles and rolling small swimbaits over vegetation points midlake. Keep a topwater ready for schooling fish. Pretty lake, good restaurants nearby and in Hot Springs, but temper your expectations of bagging a lot of fish.

It's been a couple of weeks since I was up there. Early, look in some of the deep pockets to the west of Brady Mountain for some breakers. Won't be much size for most of them but better than nothing. Agree with above posts after that or if they aren't still breaking there. If you get tired of that look for the striper boats and find stripers on your graph that may be 40+ feet down. Jig a smoke colored fluke on a jighead down on them and hang on. This same pattern can also be used below the small blacks breaking sometime. It is a very pretty lake but gets stingy in the dog days of summer.

Was there the end of July. I fished very little but was told to throw a topwater early in the back of pockets, then head for the points, this was from a local. I also talked to a local guy on the water, he was fishing a spy bait, he told me the fish were holding around 15 feet over deeper water. I graphed a lot of fish, but did not get bit. Spent more time enjoying the houseboat and drinking beer! We were near the marker #19. Went out of Mountain Harbor. Enjoy.

Oof probably the worse time of year for fishing there, go watch the FLW cup from last august on youtube, they actually had planned to fish that event there this year again but changed to nearby lake Hamilton because the fishing was so bad in 2018. When even the pro's can't catch a limit I doubt us normal guys could catch anything...

Looks like pretty good conditions this weekend, high 80's , overcast and spotty rain. You can probably throw a topwater all weekend long. I've been up there this time of year and ran up both river arms as far as I could get and started working my way out. Especially the southern arm. Lots of isolated lay downs.
