Subject: Trouble with this car I purchased: Re: Your next vehicle is here at Grapevine Ford Lincoln

Hello Sean,

I purchased this car on Thursday, December 2012. My wife had an issue with the car today Saturday December 29, 2012 around 12:45 PM.

She was making a left hand turn on Southlake Blvd and her new Ford Focus stalled then she heard a loud popping sound. Luckily, she did
not get ran over. She then limped the car back home.

As per our conversation around 2 PM today I would like this car replaced with another one of the same style since this car is only 2 days old. You stated the you will do whatever it takes when I requested the car to be replaced. I am glad to hear you agree with replacing the vehicle,

I called and texted Daren Lewis around 1:18 pm and he returned my call promptly. Unfortunately, I interrupted him during a funeral.

Once again, I will call you on Monday, December 31st, 2012.

Thanks in advance,
Rxxxx Gxxxx

Hello Jimmy,

My wife has had problems with this car since the day after it was purchased in 2013.
The car has been at Grapevine Ford many times in the past to repair this transmission
unsuccessfully.

Grapevine Ford's main reply was that my wife needs to accelerate faster to prevent the transmission from
bucking and stalling the car. Wrong answer!!!
It was explained to Grapevine in detail as to the seriousness of the danger when the car stalls.
This fell on deaf ears.

My wife has been nearly hit by other cars on numerous occasions when the car shutters and stops without any warning.
This has been happening since the car was purchased. I have emails stating this fact the day after the car was purchased. The problem with the transmission is a big safety issue when the car stalls and shutters with oncoming traffic, especially when turning left.

I contacted Grapevine Ford a few weeks ago and they did no return my call. This is unacceptable.

Today, I contacted your customer service in the Philippines. I then requested to speak to someone in
America with no success. This is also unacceptable.

I then called your corporate phone number and was transferred to a voice mail stating that Ford would
contact the next business. Unacceptable again.
Please remember you did not give me the car and allow me to pay the following day!

With all the above being said I want this made right ASAP. I am tired of this car bucking, jumping, and stalling in dangerous situations. Also, tired of making excuses for Ford as to why this car's transmission make so much
noise.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Richard Griffith

My daughter had a 2012 (bought new) with the same issue. I don't recall what was replaced (module) but it would drive great for several months and then would happen again. This went on for 3 years. The dealer replaced module again and said due to mileage that this was the last free fix. Was told that this was common with 2012 only. This is one of many reasons I will not own a Ford,Chevy,Chrysler car...I have not bought one since 1995 and that was junk. much better options for small cars out there..

Pffft...I've had 3 recalls, transmission, engine, suspension, sensors, key fob, a/c and seatbelt failure problems on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. About 55k miles. Now THAT is what I call a pile of $#!T.

I own Ford stock and was reading some of the conversations on Yahoo Finance today. Lots of people think that recalls and the threat of them and especially the tranny ones are depressing the stock price right now. I bought because at the current price it pays a great dividend plus I think the stock has more upside potential than downside risk. I bought several vehicles from Grapevine Ford and knew several of the service dudes and the General Manager real well. The service guys always treated me well. They even completely repainted my 1987 when it was not one of the recalled colors. It all ended in 1997 when I ordered a F150. The truck went on hold twice but the sales guy was afraid to call me. I found out when I stopped in the dealership to inquire on the status on the way home. The GM came to the defense of the sales dude. I was like how can you defend him when all he had to do was call. It was Friday afternoon and I gave them till Monday to find my truck. They failed and I never stepped foot in there again. In the end it worked out for me because 5 Star had the color I preferred.

My co worker bought a Focus and has had transmission problems since Day 1. The Ford service rep here in Huntsville told him to drive it like he stole it.

That can be hard to do in DFW traffic. He needs to just trade that piece of dung in for a Toyota

What a weird post about a car that was bought 7 years ago... I've been in the automotive business for 35 years and I can tell you that after the same issue with a car that hasn't been resolved, (especially if it is a safety issue) it applies for the lemon law! Its a pain in the arse, but you should've taken it a step further! The dealer is going to put it off hoping you will go away! Sorry, but you're stuck with the car!

Personally, I'd have gone with a Volkswagen. Perfect for goosenecks and fifth wheels.
