Is the lake still super busy or has it slowed down considerably?

With school back in it hasn't been too bad. Saturdays and Sunday will still be pretty busy as long as its hot out. But I fished from 6:30AM to 8:30PM today and saw hardly any boat traffic out there. If you have the luxury fish on the weekdays.

don't see many boats if you stay away from the area down by Mansfield/Cypress/Sandy

The approaching 3 day Holiday weekend will be busy, but most will start to vacate the lake in the coming days afterwards with school back in session. Labor Day being the last of the summer holidays rec folks will be having a heyday hurrah out there till Monday.

It’ll be a nightmare for the holiday weekend. I will be avoiding the lake until Tuesday.

Been on the lake almost 45 years and we do not get the boat wet on holiday weekends. Period. Nothing enjoyable about it in a bass boat as it is nothing but wake surfers plowing the lake up, 30+ foot cruisers plowing the lake up and total boating rookies in rental pontoons and jet skis zig-zagging around with no regard for anyone other than themselves. Other than that, it's pretty chill. LOL Weekends will suck through September.

Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading

You don't get up past that way much...do ya? LOL. It's crazy all the way up the river. And gets worse as the river gets more narrow. Put in at Gloster bend last weekend for about two hours and they were like flies on a turd.

Different standards or I’m lucky I guess? Maybe I spend too much time on Austin and LBJ. Pace Bend ramps usually aren’t even full if I get off by noon. To be fair, I don’t venture north of the Pedernales often

I put in this morning at Cypress Creek at daylight and there was only one boat launching when I arrived. Fished until 11 and boat traffic wasn’t unbearable even on tha main lake. Get there early and be off before noon and you’ll be fine.
