Struggling guides .... bawahahaha

Ask a few of them struggling guides how many fish they were catching a day at Monti

I was taking my customers for the frog fishing in the morning then coming to Fork in the afternoon.

The struggle is real amigo banana

Pay no attention Zach. You guys have a tough job and if there's a lake close by that you know is producing better than your "home" lake then more power to you. I think the rub comes from some guides that aren't honest about where they are actually catching and guys like me that don't want Monti getting the press when it's really good smile

Why does it have to be a pay ramp where the county or someone else is making money? The ramps at Sandlin, Cypress, and Welsh are public with no fee required.

Well considering the only ramp to the lake has been shut down for good at this point, a solution that requires funds to keep it open and maintained is the only thing that makes sense.

The idea here isn't to make money as I doubt there's any way to make enough with this to matter. The idea is simply to have enough funds to cover labor, upkeep, new loading dock, etc, etc so that we can still access the lake.

We can add you to the list of 1, that doesn't want to pay for a pass.

I suggest they make a small investment (for them) and put up a pay station like the one at Hickory Creek on Lewisville. Works like a charm. No attendant, no envelopes, etc....

Rumor at Bob Sandlin is that they are going to open the dam up and make it part of that lake, you can access it through a cut in the dam if that ever happens.

That same rumor has been around for 2+ years. Basically since they announced the shut down of the plant. Anything is possible but that seems very unlikely from what I know.

It's cost you $40 a year to get a A. C. E. pass, $50 is not bad. I wish we had a better choice of lake around Waco.

I may have started that rumor or maybe a time traveler. [Linked Image]

I guess my original response wasn't clear enough. They shut the gates to the park because no one was willing to keep up with it. There is a pay station there and I'd say at least 1/2 the people that launch don't pay and that doesn't include when there aren't envelopes available. The idea of charging is to repair, build and maintain a nice ramp for us to access a lake where, as of today we have no access at all.
