I jump in the lake at least 3-4 times a trip right now. Helps a ton especially if there is a breeze.

HOGON, glad that you and your Dad were Ok! That is the very reason that I usually don't fish in August. Just too hot. I'm so ready for the fall!!!

Glad you are ok. Yesterday was that way for me in many ways. I had a friend come in from West Texas and we fished from 2-6. I drink 5-6 Gatoraids and did not piss until I got home after hearing the shower running. No did not do it in the shower! :-) Seriously I was hot and tired. Today was much different but the same in the aspect of getting to the lake in what was supposed to be a 4 MPH wind and ended up a 15 MPH wind. Finally at one point no wind and it got hot. Sorry, I know this is not the point of this post. I have not fished that lake at all, but live close and would like to know.

I appreciate all the replies and well wishes.
I started another thread called Heat Exhaustion before Heat Stroke.
I am hopefully clarifying some things for all of us here on the TFF.
I know I had my eyes opened on some things in the last 48 hours.
Educating all of us from what I learned first hand yesterday and after speaking with my wife a Texas Paramedic.
Chris (Asleep at the reel) thank you for your service.
My younger son is Army National Guard a new infantry officer. I love your videos.
Im glad you guys were ok after your outing yesterday as well. Please check out my other thread about the Heat Exhaustion.
My wife wanted me to relay to you to not drink 5-6 Gatorade's like you did yesterday and I explain why in the other thread.
Hopefully relaying some information that may help you and others going forward.
The whole reason I even brought any of this up was because I want us to be safe and I simply was passing along what I learned in hopes of helping any of us that brave the heat to go fishing.
Thanks for reading.
