I know it's way early but I thought I would throw this out there now, so if anyone is interested we can get a head start on the lodging.
The river that feeds Ft. Gibson lake is one of the best springtime sandbass fisheries anywhere. Big sandbass by the millions run up the river every year from March through May, you can troll or cast just about anything and catch a bunch of fish. It's the perfect place to get kids or family members hooked on fishing. It's an extremely safe area, sheltered from the wind for miles and no hazards of any kind. Ratz and his daughter came up here in April for 3 days last spring and we had a blast. I hope he and his family make it a yearly event, I didn't even fish and it was one of my favorite fishing trips ever.
Anyway, if anyone is interested I thought we might make it a family get together. Maybe have a kids fishing tournament with prizes and a big fish fry. There is a place called Sequoyah State Park that has cabins and a big lodge right on the main lake. Very pretty place with lots of stuff for the kids to do, I think depending on how many per room it's between $80 to $100 a night, I was surprised it wasn't a lot more. I have no idea if they will do a discount for a group but we can find out if anyone is interested. It's about 20-25 minutes from the ramp we use on the river and you can literally start catching fish as soon as you unload the boat.

You would be shoving kids out of the way.
