My wife wants to go sit on the bank and catch a fish. There's no places around Gonzales, so where can I take her where she doesn't have to walk too far or climb steps. She has bad knees. I would like to take her where I can set her up with a lawn chair and she can catch bluegill, Rois, or any such fish.

One to two hour drive would be perfect.

I’m up near Waco, and you would be welcome to sit on the bank of our fishpond and catch some big catfish. I’ll supply the beer. The bass are catch and release. The catfish are catch and eat and I need to thin em out a bit. The lawn chairs are already in place.

I’m probably outside your desired drive time, but thought I’d mention it.

Kirk

I had several very nice docks on Dunlap that you and your wife could have fished and caught plenty of nice Bluegill. But do to circumstances beyond my control they are all out of the water! bang There are several shaded areas inside Starkey Park along Lake Placid in Seguin. They are very close to the park road and you do not have to walk very far to fish. The bite has not been very good this year but I have in the past caught some nice fish from there. I have also been told that the Palmetto State Park has a dock and some bank areas to fish. The only times I fish Palmetto is during the trout stockings. Other than that you might want to try the Comal River by Prince Solms Park in New Braunfels. Fishing is good at times but can also be slow. I would wait till after Labor Day and fish during the week days. Less people. Plenty of bank places to fish with easy walking distance. Hope this helps you out some! thumb

Prince Solms Park is pretty good during the fall and winter time. I have caught some nice bass there and some pretty good Redbreast. Sometimes there are some scuba drivers there practicing. They are from some scuba diving school in San Antonio. I have seen them there several times. You could also drive about an hour further to the Blanco State Park. Plenty of shaded bank areas to fish and are all close to the parking spots. woot
