Welcome wettle-
I know some who the vaping did help-
For me it didnt-
I had tried multiple times over the years and looking back I feel like when I used the various quitting aids I was depending on them too much-
We are all different but the only thing that worked for me was just me against the cigarette-
I did use the patch for rough times but I pitted myself against the addition-
And its still not comfortable or pleasant yet, and its been a good while now-

I wish you well and dont just accept it and just give up if you fail the first time-
Once you get it in your head that youre very life, or at least youre quality of life , depends on quitting it should strengthen you.
YOU have to decide if its stronger than you are-
cheers

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

You just gotta get your mind tight. Know WHY you are quitting. Then just quit. No crutches. Get mad at what enslaved you and ban it from your life. Stay mad at until it is in the past.

Yes, I quit tobacco twice, years apart, just this way. I recently dropped another bad habit, and I am not going back to it either.

The biggest problem is the mindset of TRYING to quit. There is no try. Just [censored] quit!

May 14th this year was my last day as a cigarette smoker. I just stopped. Lost count of the days, about 4 months I guess. Dang cigs were expensive, I enjoy not spending that money. Had a pack left over and gave it to the goats. Stupid animals but they like tobacco.

Great job Twotoes! It's easy to forget how many days when the tobacco is not on your mind. I forgot my 3 year anniversary date on the 20th last month, because it's not on my mind anymore.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Doing fine and still not smoking. And - visited my cousin last week, hadn't seen him in about 20 years. He has end stage COPD that I didn't know about before I visited. 24 hour oxygen and barely staying alive. He was a heavy smoker all his life and his wife tells me he still tries to smoke. I guess in his situation it really doesn't matter.

actually my 4 year old grandaughter was sitting on my lap openning Xmas packages when she looked up at me and said
"Grandpa your mouth stinks",...she's 18 now. That day I pitched a half carton of Salems in the trash. Stop Buying,...!!!

Last cigarette was November 8th of this year. I'm hanging in there. Feeling better already. Putting on weight, tho.
