Does anyone know if they have opened it back up for boats ? It was only open for kayaks and canoes.

So I live directly across the street in this new “barndominium” we just built that overlooks Wheeler Branch. The rule still still exists allowing only canoes, kayaks... The rule reads “no bilge areas”. Of course we argue that kayaks...have hidden “bilge” areas also. I am acquainted with the superintendent over the Somervell County Water District that owns/runs/manages the lake and I can assure you the only thing that will come from that argument is they will agree and restrict kayaks also. They are afraid of the spread of Zebra Mussels and believe in the studies that blame boats as one of the many ways of the mussels spreading. Gasoline motor use has always been been restricted since day one. In the past you could fish out of your bass boat but simply could not use your outboard motor. Not any more. Imagine building this new barndominium overlooking the reservoir with a Ranger 521 sitting in your garage and not getting put it in the lake? cry [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

Walleye catches have really dropped off on the lake. I only know of one fish caught this year. Most of the fish have been caught by bass anglers by accident.

I have an opinion that all the walleyes are left overs and when they are caught(or die of old age) they will be gone. While a few were able to target them and catch a few most have always been caught mostly by chance. Same with the small mouth bass. I did however come across this little guy last year: [Linked Image]
