Changed the oil and filter on my 150 SHO this morning and thought I'd pass along the " how to " in case some of you might want to do it yourself instead of taking to a dealer. I bought an OEM oil change kit for $68.12 on Ebay which included 5 qts Yamalube 20-40 oil and filter. You'll need a couple things to do it properly including a 14mm socket and ext, , a drain hose and I/2" nipple and a filter wrench. The 1/2" nipple is actually a nipple used to splice a water hose and can be bought at Home Depot. The drain hose is any hose that fits the nipple, I used a piece of old fuel line. Pictures provided. The operation is simple and takes less than 20 minutes if you follow the steps properly and in order.
1- remove cowling
2- remove dipstick, oil filler cap and oil filter
3- tilt motor as far up as possible
4- remove drain plug ( pic provided showing location of drain plug )
5- insert nipple with hose attached in drain plug hole- pics provided
6- have a container handy that will hold 4 1/2 quarts of oil and insert hose in container
7- lower motor gradually so that oil starts to drain in container
8- after oil has drained tilt motor up again, remove drain hose and re-install drain plug
9-lower motor and install new filter
10- using paper funnel provided in the oil change kit pour in 4 qts. of Yamalube 20-40 oil
11- with motor at level position check oil, should be between the two dipstick marks. I usually add about a 3rd of a quart more.
12- I recommend checking oil level again after running the motor for 10-15 minutes
Don't know what dealers charge to change oil and filter but was told $250 so for you do it yourself' guys this can save a few bucks

Sounds like you made a wise decision doing this in the morning before it’s 105 degrees outside

Ford Mustang had a SHO (super high output) motor.

Probably saved yourself a C-Note by doing it yourself.

The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO was named car of the year by Esquire magazine.

Oops my bad. Yamaha VF150 4 stroke outboard motor. SHO stands for "Super High Output".

No I'm a dude and mine is a 150hp. Did she do it correctly ?

Surely it would be the same procedure as my 115 VMAX SHO!

I don't remember any Mustang ever having the SHO engine in but the Taurus did FO SHO!

The engine was built and assembled by the same company that builds the outboards engines.

On a side note the original ZR1 Corvette (1989) had an engine built by Mercury Outboards maybe in response to the Ford Taurus SHO that debuted in the 1988.
