can you run lone star lake or does it have a lot of stumps. I am going fishing there in the morning with a friend and neither have ever been to that lake before. We have been told the lake is very clear with a lot of hydrilla.

You'll be fine to run the lake, pretty much wide open. I haven't been this season, so don't know the condition of vegetation. Used to be lots of pads up north around the Fire Station Ramp, but they went away a few years ago. Black/Blue soft plastics & chatter baits always worked well for me.

They will eat a frog there all day long. Fun little lake.

Make sure to use the fire station ramp. You can run pretty much anywhere between there and the dam. I’ve only been 1 time about 2 months ago. Pads around the launch and there is hydrilla around the dam. Fish the docks with shaky heads and around the grass with top water should get you bit.

I thought I seen that they redid the city park ramp and just opened back up? Haven’t been there in awhile but pretty sure I read that somewhere

I know it was still closed when I went but it may be open. There isn’t much room at the fire station so that would be nice.

It’s open but be aware of the buzzards that will rip the weather stripping right out of your truck. Know a couple of folks this has happened to since they reopened.
