I got hearing aids because I needed them and to hear my wife's soft spoken words. I have had to repeatedly tell he that we are not in the same room, I can't hear her. She still does it. I told her I got hearing aids to hear her and she still will not up her volume. I guess if it's important enough she will yell at me..lol

Apparently my wife thinks everything she says is "important enough" !

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I wish quite talkers would fly more often, frequent restaurants more often and were in waiting rooms more often.

Do you think men have hearing problems more than women? Seems like it's a vast majority of men that get hearing aids.

Come on do we really want to hear what the wife has to say. Can't argue with her if you can't hear what she is saying. Nodding your head works well to avoid these situations.

Family is everything!

Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

Nod your head while she's talking, occasionally smile and say "uh - Huh"....... When you consider it appropriate, ask her politely to repeat the last half of what she last said.

Then put in your new hearing aids and repeat.
You'll have the hearing aids she's been begging you to get, but she'll still do the things that cause you to be unable to understand the sounds that are coming out of her mouth.

Not all, but most lose some hearing as they age. Mine is horrible, but I have hearing aids that help if people look at you as they talk and move their lips. Some seem to have too little energy to speak. Restaurants are especially bad as most are not designed to reduce echos. And waitstaff are especially bad with their lazy speech.

Gotta step in real close to em. They either speak up or run screaming.

I don’t know what’s worse. One of my buddies is a mumbler. Have to guess at about half of what he’s saying.

My hearing aides are great , However, in places such as Golden Corral, the lil kids screaming will drive me crazy, my units seem to really super amplify that pitch. When seating me if they ask, Smoking or no smoking, my answer will always be "No kids", With 5 grown kids, I've spent my time in hell.

Just like in a vehicle, starts talking then turns head to window
