Hi everyone! Next year I will be upgrading a bit and was wondering how experienced guys would proceed. I have been looking at the Vexus 2020 and the z20 nitro for my Sam Rayburn/Toledo needs and they price out similar but I am unable to find anyone who has fished the 2020 on a rough day on Rayburn. Before you go all skeeter, basscat and ranger on me I do not have the budget for anything beyond the nitro because I receive a significant discount on Nitro but really like the layout of the 2020 also. So am I crazy even considering another tin boat and am a victim of their marketing campaign or do the vexus aluminum seem legit? Would it even compare in ride experience? Im probably over thinking it. Thanks for the input if my delema makes sense.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

That Z20 Nitro with a "significant discount" would be my choice. Might have to reach out over on BBC Vexus page and see what you find about rough water ride.

I don't care what any of the Vexus guys say. Any aluminum boat will rock your insides in rough water. I'd go with the Nitro hands down between those 2.

I rode in a brand new Nitro Z21 last week and was really impressed with the fit and finish of the boat. I fish out of a Phoenix, and previous boat was a Ranger. After fishing out of one last week I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one especially if I was able to get a discount.

I've never owned a Nitro but I like the layout of the newer ones. And I agree with the above statements, if you're going to live on Rayburn/Toledo then I would stay away from a tin boat.

I still have my old 1988 Nitro MX185, hull is solid and it will run 60-62 when the old 1979 Black Max 150 is running right. Some soft spots on floor but considering it has always been outside that's not bad for the age. I would definitely go with the Nitro!

Nitro. You work for BPS or Cabelas? How are you getting a discount?

Discounted Nitro between the two for the Bend and Rayburn. But I'd go with a 21 footer if you can afford it.

Get the Nitro. I have seen 1 or 2 on Rayburn/Toledo. Does Vexus not make a fiberglass boat, you can buy that and tell us all how awesome it is.

Consider a 6 month old Skeeter guide boat!
I saved almost $20k when I bought my 2014 ZX21 and got new title / warranty

Never been in an aluminum boat in rough water. Coming from a former Nitro owner they are an ok boat but you get what you pay for. They are $10k cheaper for a reason. I would look at an good used Phoenix, Skeeter or BassCat with the new Mercury or SHO. You will save a bunch on a good used boat and additional warranties are cheap.

If you get a discount as you say get the nitro fiberglass is gonna better. Nitro makes a good boat vexus May as well but if you got the funds for glass buy glass .
