Sheepshead usually hangs around pier pilings and chew on the barnacles that grow on the piling OR at the Jetties next to the rocks. Rock groins along Galveston's Seawall could do the same.

I usually fish for Sheepshead in the wintertime. Maybe they're around in the summer too. In the summertime, I go for trout, redfish and blackdrum.
If I were to target SH now, I'd look around the jetties. Tim

If that's your only target species this time of year it might not be easy. I agree the jetties would be my first choice. If you're in a boat you could also target oyster reefs where there is a channel or gut along one side of the reef. Either way cut crab, fiddler crabs or sea lice would be good bait. You can catch them on live shrimp but it's really hit or miss since most fish beat the sheepies to the shrimp.
Sheephead are underrated table fare.
You get out of it what you put into it!

Any hard structure, bulkheads, rip rap, oyster reef. My buddy caught a ten plus pound one last summer in Clear Lake next to hard structure near the Kemah channel. He caught it on a paddle tail/jig head rig of all things. They are usually around the oyster reefs I fish, but maybe a little harder to spot in summer water.

Hell yes thank yall. Im definitely going to take a few of my rods with me and setup some live shrimp on 1, and artificials on the others. Unfortunately i don't have a boat so the jetties is my next best bet.
