There is a Bassmaster Elite Series event on the St. Lawrence River right now. How come no one is talking about it?

nor is the live mix, but FB live was working just fine, so it has to be on their end.

Cause we all working.... Ha

Seriously though.... It's live on ESPN 3 all day....
Couple guys really smoking them. They got light winds and a late takeoff allowing them to fish to almost 5. It'll take 85-90lbs to win it I bet

I don't watch fishing like I do football. I would rather fish than watch other people fish, and when I do fish a tournament I think catching five 3 pounders ought to beat twenty 1 pound schooling fish.

Gawd, even the title of the thread is condescending. Get a life. If I was not at work I'd be watching it.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

Got to watch a little bit today in between working. You know the fishing is good when guys are disgusted with their 20 pound bags.

Probably because very few of the well known stars of the sport are fishing it.

Split the talent evenly amongst more little fish and best 5 competitions, air them at the same time, I will gladly watch the best 5 everytime.

Because BASS isn’t paying folks to promote them on local forums. At least I hope some of you are getting paid for your efforts. Lol

What a fishery though. Bucket list place for me.

I lose interest in the drop shot/video game fishing tournaments this time of year. I watch but not as much when they hit Northern waters.

I try to have it playing while I’m working, but I’m in a bad cell area this week; but I’ll have it playing on Saturday. I’d like to see Steve Kennedy win after his slow year. But those Canadians are due too, pretty awesome anglers.

Same old format that we all fish with today, so its more relevant to me. I like it, been paying as much attention to it as work will allow.

Funny thing is they're catching them about as fast as MLF, just bigger fish. Bass doing a great job on the cameras.

fish size is not that important unless you are actually in the tournament. the techniques and baits to me are. BASS and FLW pros are not telling what and how because it is a secret for them to use again and again.
that does not help me improve. watching five minutes out of a 30 minute show of actual fishing, 15 minutes of commericals and then 10 more minutes of thrilling weigh ins. not for me

the only time fish size is important to me is when I am fishing in a tournament.

What event you talking about? Bass is on pretty much all day today showing 4-5 guys on screen constantly. You can see what they are using plus Davy hite and zona explaining exactly what and how they are catching them. Zona even idled around some spots showing what they are looking for

I've seen some of it. My comments were a generalization of the Northern swing events that trails make. I don't care to watch finesse fishing much so I tune in less if that is the case. Not knocking those who like finesse stuff but its not my thing.

What an unbelievable fishery. My dad is in the service yard, he works FLW, BASS, and MLF events and this is their favorite destination every year. Perfect weather and magnificent fishing. Finally going to get up there next year and fish a week after the Elite guys. I wish it was next week!

I hear ya, catching them on a jig is my favorite way to fish however the fish dictate the finesse game here in NC, I was catching them in 40 feet the other day dropping on them. It is what it is!

Hanselman caught his crankin and DiPalma caught them with the ball and chain. Diverse tactics at play no doubt

Watching them cruise up behind Kennedy's swimbait or lehews wakebait is pretty cool. They are so aggressive you can drop down and catch almost everyone you see. The leader caught some of his in 3-4ft of gin clear water. Amazing place

Now that I think about it, don’t think I saw a Spinning rod used all year on MLF.

Seems like there was a ton of finesse fishing on MLF, I guarantee you there was more on MLF than there would have been if it was biggest 5. Nearly everybody was trying to catch as many 1 lber as they could with their fairy wands.

Drop shooting up North leads to 4 and 5 lb smallies. Not what MLF was targeting with their fairy wands.

Yep his weights are going up daily while almost everyone else is either falling or less consistent. Hope he gets the win tommorrow. He has been close a few times this year.

Looks like they had a good turnout for weigh in too.

I hope Zaldain pulls it off. He swings for the fence and deserves a big win.

Zaldain has the lake all to himself buts it's a 1.5 hr ride and anything could happen. Cory Johnston was picked to win and he had boat trouble making that run. Should be a fun Sunday to watch. Zaldain is out of cell service unfortunately so we probably won't be able to watch him

Micah Frasier comeback from 10th place with a giant 25lb bag to win is incredible. Can't wait to see the footage because with 30 min to go he was way back with 20-21lbs.
