I've not used Stubby's or Sure Shot so I can't say, but I've used CJ's and it stays on a treble hook really well, and doesn't stink as bad as some I've used, but that is your main component that brings in the fish, so I just grin and bare it. I've used punch bait for probably 5 decades, and I stay cleaner and get less on my fingers than I would using cut bait that you actually have to place your fingers on. Punch bait is just that!....You use a stick to punch the hook into the bait and pull the hook out without even placing a finger on the hook, or the bait! If you get any on your hands, you are doing it all wrong! Don't confuse dough bait with punch bait, because they are different types of bait.
Just one more cast!

I've had good luck with Danny King's. If you call them you can get a guide tub. It's about a two gallon tub and they can mix in extra fiber. It takes a treble hook, though.

I fish Lake Lavon and I will use Danny Kings Blood bait along with Stubbies . Both baits produce okay , but the fresh cut shad out performs both consistently . I have a tough time netting shad though so I will use the other baits more frequently .

Used Stubbys today for the first time. I’ve always been a Charlie man. It smells like hell too. It’s pricey but idk if it fishes as good as Earnest Pole Down. I’ll use it again... sure shot is prolly the best I’ve used.

I keep cut carp, drum, or buffalo in the freezer all the time. I fish with it and refreeze it over and over till it gets soft. The hotter it is the faster it spoils. I do not salt it or add water when I freeze it.

Stubbys will out perform pinch bait year around. Use stubbys when the fish are not biting well and catch fish. It works every day year around. I have been retired for 6 years and I fish almost every week. I clean as many fish as I want but I do release some back to swim also.

Sure shot is great bait but it stinks and in tough conditions I think stubbys is better. Hey all bait catches fish when they are biting well.

I make my own punch bait based on the Hells Bells Recipe.Takes awhile for it to ripen but it is Ruff. Use cattails or cotton fiber to thicken. Only thing that works like it is Big Marv's.
