I have a sheet rocked 2 -car garage with metal insulated doors. There is a single opening window on the east side. This is a brick home. I know I could install a window mounted fan but I am not sure it would do any good. I am also concerned about someone breaking in through that window. Has anyone installed a ventilation fan or fans or something else to cool down their garage?

Try a whole house fan mounted in the garage.

What color are your garage doors and which direction do they face? We had our doors painted with Behr Ultra White semi-gloss and our south facing garage rarely gets above 70 degrees. Of course, we don't park a hot car in it late in the afternoon or it never cools down.
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

You probably need to get the air moving a little bit to clear out the heat. If you have attic above the garage with good roof ventilation, you could install some type of ventilation openings in the garage ceiling to let the hot air move up and out. I installed a few air registers and I think they help. You can close them in the winter.

Try a whole house fan mounted in the garage. That’s what I did in my old house. I blew the hot air from the garage up through the attic. It kept the attic cooled off a little as well. Only problem is that it really sucked in a lot of leaves, etc when it was running.

Insulated doors . Tint the window . Shoot some insulation in the attic . Run one of those wall units like in nicer hotels I forget the name of them or brand .
Good luck

I used to install garage doors so I know how hot they get.
Depending, you could put a power fan in the ceiling, a gable mounted fan along with a hole in the ceiling of the attic or just have a hole in the attic with enough exit capacity to stimulate air flow from the garage. With any of these you need a way to get outside air into the garage so it can flow upwards and out.

My uncle recently installed a ductless mini split ac system in his garage. It has worked flawlessly the last week when its 100+ outside. Reasonably priced, easy to install, and super energy efficient.

Reasonably priced, easy to install, and super energy efficient. Did this in my 20 X 30 shed/shop a month or so ago. Perfect! I did insulate my metal 10X10 shed/shop door as well which also helped.
