Fellas, need your input. Love my Nu Canoe Frontier 10. Stable. I can stand on it. Fish off it, and if WalMart would put in a moat, I could grocery shop off of it. But, the weight at 86 lbs is there, and won't go on a diet.

Looking at the Diablo. 37 inches wide and 56 lbs. But one thing I don't want to give up. The swivel chair. Would this even be a viable option? Aside from Nu Canoe, I don't know of any other yak mfg with the swivel seat.

Edit. Think Ascend does.

Janie do you know if your Frontier 10 is different than this one? This is from NuCanoes' website listed as the F10. They're showing the weight is 62 lbs. I know manufactures (prolly all of them) fudge at lease a little on the weight but the Diablo Chupacabra (which is the model that fits the specs you gave) is only 6 lbs lighter according to manufacture listed weights.

Jerry, that's what I have. Mine is 2013 model, so no clue if the newer ones had some weight shaved off. We did put mine on scales. Yak itself came in at 72 lbs. Seat and seat base was 16 lbs.

BoPro, thank you for that link! Most appreciated.

If I was a betting man I'd say their weight is still the same that's prolly the different between the manufactures listed weight and the actual weight.

Using software I measured the seat tracks on your kayak and compared them to the Diablo Chupacabra. It looks like your seat could fit. Just not sure how much less the Chupacabra will actually weight tho.

Jerry, thank you very much for taking the time to do that. Most appreciated. Need to put my hands on one, grab the handle and hoist it. Pelican lists their Catch 100 at 56 lbs. Checked it out at Academy, and I had no issues lifting it, so gotta believe it's pretty accurate.

You're welcome. Hope you find a good yak that is light enough for you to tote around.

Janie, you would probably like that Pelican, and from what I've seen it's a decent kayak at good price and light enough to handle not weighing a ton.
Just ask the grocery store for one of those paper grocery sacks and cut some eye holes and a mouth hole and wear it when you go out to the lake......Nobody will think anything of it! huh

Just kidding of course!

Hey Janie, I have the Pelican Catch 120 and I like it a lot. Especially for the price.
It's not built for speed, but it's very comfortable and stable.
