Finally caught a few decent ones this weekend in NoName by the pump station. Fished 17 ft. water with my home made punch bait. Threw out some cubes and soured grain and waited. Fished the same spot three times and caught twenty. Only fished about an hour each time. Caught a 25 pounder several years ago and hung one Sat. afternoon that equalled that. Could never get him up. Kept letting off drag but he finally broke the line (30 lb braided) anyway. Was fun while it lasted. Also hung another one and while reaching for the net, he decided to take off under the boat and broke the line. The water has gone down some and hope it goes down some more. There are some good stumps to fish on in Williams creek entrance that have been under water for a long time. I used to catch a lot of nice ones in that area when the lake was low.

Fished 23 ft in front of the pumps station and 35 feet near the 515/17 public boat ramp, Used and entire large bucket of soured maize and only caught maybe 10 small ones from 5 inches to 11 inches

Ed don't doubt what little wheel is telling you. He is fishing the best bait known over well chummed places and 25 an hour is very doable. Stubby guarantees his customers a limit of fish. It is a combination of his great bait and his knowledge about the lake coupled with his bullet proof techniques that allows such great success.

I’m absolutely not doubting. I’m (in a good-natured way) jealous of his superior and hard-won catfishing ability on his lake. Maybe someday I can be half as good on my lake.

In other words go book a trip with Stubby and then you will have the entire package down in short order.

That would be the best way. Just not an available option for my team.

One hour limits are well within reach on this lake. Baited holes that stay baited. Lots of work involved in this. My last customers did take about an hour and a half to limit out . They missed a lot of fish. The others are correct, I have learned from the best and became best friends Stubby which shortened my learning curve by years. For that I am forever indebted. His bait also has a lot to do with it as others have stated. I watched 4 people in a pontoon boat not long ago tied up to a tree I was wanting to fish. In about 35 minutes I saw them catch 2 catfish. They left so my buddy and I said what the heck and gave it a shot. We caught 60 in roughly an hour and a half. Same tree, different bait. Stubby and I will be fishing together tomorrow and baiting holes for guide trips.

I made a short video the other day when we were fishing on how we use the bait and how quick it catches fish. Feel free to text me and I will send you the video. 903-987-2315

I started out a pretty pathetic catfisherman. Like I said earlier, if it wasn’t for Stubby spending time on the water with me and teaching me things he didn’t have to, I would still be there. In a few short years he has taken me from being a couple fish a day person and now has me doing some guiding. I just listened.
