I would get one of those new cheaper DC reels so I could throw a 6XD a 100 yards or a $100 worth of circus peanuts.

3-- 20 pound spools
You're set for a long, long time on about 85% of your reels.

Hunting or fishing clothing. Maybe high tech long johns. Maybe a waterproof camo jacket.

I would cross reference that with what is on clearance at bass pro and cabelas (close substitutions are fine)
If nothing I need is on clearance or on sale, then I wait until they are

If nothing I need goes on sale or clearance for six months, then I just get the things I use the most
Green pumpkin stickos, tungsten weights, fishing line, hooks, flukes, brush hogs

I buy my wife fishing stuff as presents and since she doesn't fish I use it myself. She's always saying it's the thought that counts so...why not?

A bag of peanuts and a bottle of water, then I would pocket the remaining $1.18. Only after getting my free Bass Pro underoos or hat or whatever the " give away" is for applying for their credit card.

I use to love Academy. I worked there for 6 years in HS and college. Seems like they never have what I go in for these days. Maybe the grapevine one is just bad.
