Fishing has been pretty good most days but with topwater schooling you sure bring out the clowns and the idiots on the lake. Drives me NUTS!! I’m not even going to go into a rant everybody knows how to act and just refuses to behave frown it’s all about when and where they’re going to come up and how long they’re going to stay up water is really hot and stratification has for sure set in oxygen levels dropping just typical August striper behavior. Surface temps 84-88 just HOT. No cool fronts predicted til September so this is where we are and what it will be.
Ready for fall and cooler temps. I want to thank Six Gill fishing,Mt pockets, reaxtion lures, pure fishing,Johnson outdoors and all of our wonderful sponsors for helping make this happen.

Awesome fish congratulations! I try to pull parallel to the other boats vs simply driving through the middle of the school. Any recommendations of what you want people to do?

Oh wow what a loaded question...age old discussion that can go south quick.I understand excitement I also understand when the fish are splashing and schooling it's like money blowing down the street and everybody wants some and even to a certain degree I understand people get aggressive but one thing I can't stand is when people just plow straight through the middle of them or Roar up into the middle of them on plane or start their big motor and move through schooling fish to get to a bigger patch of schooling fish or drag big lead balls straight to the middle of schooling fish or just overall kill the bite for everybody else. Everyone should always try to place yourself which way you think they're going make big wide slow circles around the school to try to allow it to stay up longer especially when other boats join in. It's almost hard to even comment on it cuz everybody has their own opinion and perception but it's always been this way and it will always be this way I just do my best to stay away from it as much as possible and try to stay in control when it is happening because there is nothing anyone can do about it. And I've seen every kind of boat do it from a small Jon Boat all the way up to a big guide boat loaded with people and even all kinds of larger pleasure Craft boats that shouldn't be plowing through the school either but people see the fish flashing and they want in on the action.

I have not fished Texoma as much as I usually do because of the floods. I went twice towards the end of July. I noticed that about 1/2 the fish we caught were thin. I am guessing that the floods might have limited their feeding somewhat. I don't really care for the fillets on the skinny fish. The meat is thin and off color.

Chris I think you have a healthy attitude about this. If you say or do anything you are most likely to get the worse of it. Especially being a guide you don't want to give a bad impression to your customers. My dad always said "If you wrestle with PIGS you are only going to get dirty and THEY like it!"

Thank you Steve I appreciate the kind words and I do try to be my best always but I promise everybody including me has had their moments for sure! As far as the skinny fish yes probably a small thread kill that last cold front along with all the shad spawning in the trees and the Striper’s didn’t find them as well as they have in the past and we noticed it to alot of the 20 to 28 inch fish on the thin side.summer stripes they always are in August and September just some years are better or worse than others

Thanks! I prefer to thump deep structure but we did fish some schools . We tried to pull up even with the other boats and then switch to the trolling motor so thanks for the advice. I did see folks cutting through the school so get your point.
