Best bet for Grass Carp in the DFW area is Purtis Creek. They pulled the Grass Carp permit there so you're encouraged to keep them, but you can still catch and release them if that's what you're trying to do.


Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

I have fished Whitney for years and never caught a grass carp. Lots of common carp and buffalo.
