I have a .50-120 Sharps replica. Need me? (I know, I know, I just couldn't resist).

Interesting quest. I've caught a few below the dam at PK.

Agreed. I've seen a lot below Possum Kingdom and also in the Trinity below Lewisville.

Platter flats, Texoma. Buff Central. When the corp has the seasonal pool set at 615’, they are easy to spot. However, the current lake level is at 618’ which would narrow your hunting grounds to closer to shore.

Here's a map of the general area

Here's a more site specific map

And a contour map. I don't know at what lake elevation these contours are set. Texoma has a seasonal conservation pool that ranges from 615' to 619', so the contours on this map could be off by as much as 4'. Still, the marked shore areas should provide good hunting.

Ramps: Platter recreation area has a ramp. I've never used it and can't comment on it's condition, but it's close to the fishing area. Another option is the Willafa Woods boat ramp. I am certain you can successfully launch your skiff from this ramp, but I will forewarn you that it's tight. It's probably a 5 minute run to the flats from this ramp and the area in between is excellent striper water....as well as the shore area N & S of the ramp.

Shannon, a couple of months ago I was fishing Texoma at the S. tip of West Burns when I saw a guy on a flats skiff casting a fly rod at the bank. I thought that's got to be texasflycaster, so I motored over to say hi. At about 100 yards out, I slowed to an idle and slowly approached. About 30 yards out I realized it wasn't you, but the guy was already eyeballing me so, to be friendly, I asked him if he was catching. He took a look at my little boat-like thing and asked "what's that". By his tone and inflection, it was clear he didn't much care for my ride. I told him and he replied with an "uh huh", put down his rod, started his engine and idled off. Either I p'd him off by approaching or he figured anybody on a little boat-like thing like mine wouldn't be of any interest to him. My buddy Justin was watching from near-by on his skiff and got a good laugh at the encounter. Kinda wish it had been you.

Anyway, good hunting!

Thank you for all the input! We had a couple handfuls of shots over the last two half days (we got off the water by noon to keep from getting baked) on Ray Roberts. Drum are still game and commons are everywhere. No, no buffalo were caught.
