Hey guys I wanted to share a tip with all the beginners out there. It’s just a little something that might help you catch more fish. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/2vaA4XpjCHs

That's a good tip and I'll probably use it but what happens if you hook something larger like a bass or catfish?

Good stuff, Capt. On my home lake I have found that 90 maybe even 95 percent of the crappie I catch are suspended at 12ft. I keep a king size red or black sharpie on the boat and make a mark on the line at 12ft then tell people to put the line at the water. The majority of the rods on my boat are 2 piece 8 footers. If someone has to break a jig off then I just let a rod length of line out and mark it between the tip and reel at the joint where the two pieces join. If at any point during the day I find that the fish are deeper or shallower it's not more than a couple of feet and we can make adjustments as needed by stripping a couple of pulls off or making a crank or two of the reel. Plus, if the fish want the jig swinging over the pile it allows me to pitch the jig past the pile and then let it come back over the pile with the mark right on the water.
