You wonder why he stayed with FLW? Not going to starve. He is definitely top 5 in the world in my book. I rode with him on Conroe the year after he won the TTBC there. Skipped the chatterbait between the pontoon and motor all the way to the dock on about 50 pontoon boats maybe hit 2 or 3. It was pretty impressive. I told him “well you have that down” he responded “you don’t have that down back home those boys are going to take a lot of your money.

Thrift is a machine...they said he holds the FLW current record for something like 77 tournament days with a (5) fish limit...that's impressive, even for a popcorn factory like Hamilton

Congrats to him, he's made top 10 in The Cup 10 times, so he was due....

I think if you look for the amount of consistency in statistics over the past 5 years or so he’s been the best in the world no doubt. Wheeler is the only one I can think of that would be close or better.

I did find it humorous when someone would say how great this lake was as they brought in 5 bass for 6 pounds that took the full 8 hours to catch. I would rather they go up to Mille Lacs and have an absolute smallmouth shootout then go down South for a dinkfest. That is 2 years in a row of just awful fishing. Heck, just move the Cup to end of September or something so you get a little more out of it. I watched Live everyday and it was so uneventful because nobody could catch fish.

Congrats to Thrift, he basically won it in the first 10 minutes. He had a limit before some guys got to their spots. Then had all day to upgrade which took all the pressure off. I think he will be the first to 2 Cups, probably will win next year too.

Yeah Hamilton is a popcorn hatchery...it's not much fun to fish, but pretty lake and all

Hamilton is pretty bad in the summer. The folks saying it's good are talking about February - April.
