I would do the same thing that happens to me in Lowe’s and HD. When I ask, it is always caddy cornered across the store. Send them to the furthest corner of the lake. If they complain later, just tell then they shoulda been here yesterday.

I'm more than happy to share the lake or river I caught fish in, as well as my bait and tactics. Typically I'm fishing a baited spot so I don't give out exact locations. Ponds are slightly different. I'll share them with close friends but almost never publicly, especially if there are big fish to be had.

I just tell them... I try to help others when I can. Tell them where, how, and with what. most people are better fisherman than me, so not a big deal.

" Over yonder " is pretty generic but if they seem sincere and likeable I'll tell'em exactly where, what lure, how deep and what time. I've shown several people exactly where I caught the 14 pounder on Fork and I've also told some about my brush piles and even sent them pictures showing exactly where they were. Disappointed though I never heard back from any of them. Maybe I should forego sharing my knowledge and let them find their own. Maybe so.

I have no problem telling someone the lake and the area and how I was fishing. I'll give my spot up to a parent with kids so they can catch some fish...I'll go find some more.

I'm not a tournament fisherman, and if I catch a record anything it would be by blind luck, so I'm not stingy. If people ask at the ramp if I had any luck, I'll tell them what I caught, where I caught it and what I caught it with. If another kayak fisherman hits me up on the water, I'll give him all the above info and show him what I caught fish with. I've given a guy the lure I was using if I had more than one and he seemed like a good guy who just wanted to catch some fish.

There are a lot of bass in Texas. I'm not going to catch them all, so sharing info isn't a big deal to me.

If I am fishing I am almost always looking for fishing records, so I often invest a great deal of time in a fishing location. I generally do not provide specifics on the internet, however, if in angler asks me about a method or location wihile I am fishing I will usually provide information to help the angler. I have often helped other anglers replace my existing records. I even wrote a book titled, "The Art of Fishing for Records" to help other anglers learn how to catch their own records and I am making YouTube videos to provide information.

Fish mostly Texoma these days with a trip or two a month down to port a. I have no problem what so ever trying to go into detail how we have been catching them. Fortunate to get to fish 16-20 days a month so have info that the guy or gal only going out for a day doesn’t have. If I can help with some info for them to have a good trip I will. Seems like the bass guys are different probably because they all think they are the next KVD. Fishing should bond folks in my opinion.
