What time of the day during the "Dog Days of Summer" is the best time to fish for the sunnies?

I do not target sunfish. The only ones I do catch are by accident. I love seeing the catches and reading the post from these guys. I am just curious while I am fishing on lake air conditioner if anyone of these guys are fishing in the HEAT of the day! Side Note: I would say sun-up until about 10 or 11 am. That is usually my fishing times during the summer.

Well, I surely do like the daylight to whenever it get too hot..But, I have been having better luck when everyone else on the public park lake leaves because of the heat, and I have the pic of the spots. One thing about fishing, you never know until you go. I thought it was a fluke but testing my theory over the past 6 trips has been consistent. Seems the fish are scattered until the sun gets high and then they bunch up in the underwater grass preferably, on breezing to windy points. Bass, Channel Cats, Redears, and Bluegills all seem to like those breeze blown points when there is underwater grass. Just my theory, which don't mean much, but it has been working for me. And, I am only a 15 minute drive from home and a one minute walk to my airconditioned truck.

During the so called "Dog Days of Summer" I usually start around daybreak and fish until 10 or 11 am. However Rick aka Catyakker will fish from daybreak all the way till 3 or 4:30 pm. He just keeps on keeping on!

I usually fish from just before sunrise until around 11 or noon (that's when dodging the paddle board and rental kayak traffic on LBL gets to the point that fishing isn't fun anymore). I don't know if it's psychological or a real thing, but I catch more fish during the prime fishing hours on the Solunar Chart. Some weeks it seems like I never get another bite after the prime fishing hours end.

Best time to fish for anything is whenever you can get on the water. I have never caught a fish when I wasn't on the water in some way.

During the summer it is usually from sun-up till about 12 noon. I also love fishing at night between 10p and 3am.
