Sounds like it needs to be aired out on a hot day. Open all compartments, remove all your stuff, spray it out good with a hose and leave all compartments open til it's totally dry.

Go to Walgreens and buy about 5 bottles of Summer's Eve. Pour in spray bottle and spray carpet completely. Let dry and do one more time, let dry again before putting away.
Stuff is hard to find so ask clerk where you can find it.

I dribble on the top cap every now and then, but never on the carpet.

Set it on fire, and push it out into the middle of the lake. Its ruined. It will never smell good again.

Thats what you get for not suppling pickles this year.

My boat kinda stinks also.

"Get rid of the cat."

All right, that did it. Gotta jack the thread. My new Skull Island Skiff finally got here. Unfortunately, it had to spend a few weeks under the carport before I could get it into the garage. About the third night I had it I got home from work and walked over to drool on it some more.

OH
MY
GAWD!!!

The deck, and the cockpit, and the seat, and the folding backrest, and the rear deck, and the poling platform, were all covered with blood, cat fur, and copious quantities of smeared cat sh!t. Ground into that beautiful white nonskid and that beautiful white diamond-stitched upholstery, and that beautiful white SeaDek under the gunwales and on the platform. I scrubbed for hours (literally), during which I killed several thousand mosquitoes and developed an entirely new vocabulary comprised entirely of obscenities, vulgarities, and bestiality-motivated impossibilities. Finally got it clean.

Two nights later, I get home and walk over to drool on the new skiff. Blood everywhere........... More scrubbing, more deleted expletives, and much more skeeter swatting.

Get rid of the cat!

And now, back to our originally scheduled thread. Rant off.......

So I guess he gives his boat a douche. Wonder if you spray it with that red hot water bag?

I emptied out some Lipton iced tea bags (the big ones for making a gallon) and filled them with baking soda and stapled the opening back together. Toss one in each compartment and let it do the rest of the work. Obviously not a substitute for the occasional carpet cleaning but it does seem to help with the stank. I live down near Houston so my garage stays hot and humid year round. This + a fan running 24/7 does the trick.

I would imagine a dusting of baking soda on the carpet + a vacuum would probably be another option that could suck the smell up. Might want to test that in a corner first though.

I once had a couple of rowdy drunks pee an ocean in the back seat. Soaked the carpet. I was gagging all the way back from the jail. I tried everything; baking soda, Febreze, Lysol, commercial odor eliminators. Nothing worked. Then the bride found some powdered pot pourri. Overnight success! Problem is, I don't recall the brand. But you might try some of the scented ones. Good luck!

I don't either but at a certain place of lodging on Lake Fork, a local cat decided to leave his mark on the front deck, with the padding underneath. Lots of scrubbing and 3 years later if it got wet in the summer, I'd get a whiff and have immediate hatred for cats.

I recently had a watermelon bust in my back floorboard, and the scent after just one hot day is something like I've never experienced. After trying everything in the world, including a high dollar vent cleaning from a repair shop, I was told about Odoban. Go get some of this, spray it on the carpet. It's hands down the best thing at killing odors in carpets I've ever found. [Linked Image]

If it smells like cat urine somewhere close is a cat. Maybe not yours but there is one. IF you have caught fish on that boat that cat will get on it and p and possibly s$&t everywhere. I had cats come from blocks away when I had a bass boat. Loose the carpet is the easiest solution.

The stank can sometimes be caused by rancid water. If this is the case, sunlight is the best cure. Park it out on a sunny day and open all compartments. As the water dries out the UV light will kill off all the bacteria that cause the stank.

But if it is a stray cat urinating everywhere, then this may not help at all.
