Before anybody asks, No we didn’t use the seine net.

We mixed it up a little bit today I run a group trip. Big thanks to my friend William for helping me out on this trip for these guys.

Today on Lake Palestine was Greg, Jordan,Jimmy, and Carney.

As a guide I love days like this and everything about it. I love the hot summer days, even when the sunscreen gets in your eyes and burns. Don’t forget the cold winter days. Also the pressure to put numbers of fish in the boat. And let’s don’t leave out the inside of your truck smelling like fish, I love going home with fish guts on me from cleaning fish. And smelling like a 6 pack of get back!! and not to mention going home mentally and physically exhausted. And going home just to wake up 4:00 in the morning to do it all over again. I guess if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

So you asked me how can I love all of that. Because it’s mine. It’s the job God as blessed me with. And I do it all as I am doing it unto him and for him. Plus sweating, hard work and getting Dirty and smelly never hurt anyone.

Even down to the way I stack clients fillets in the zip lock bags so they look better. I had a guy asked me why do you stack them like that. I told him because it’s the job that God as blessed me with and I want it perfect.

My goal on each and every trip is that you have a blast fishing with me. And that it was the best crappie trip you’ve ever been on. An that you make memories with your family and friends that you’ll never forget. If I have done that, then I’ve done my job.

I can definitely say these guys had a blast today. Even the smack talk was thick with Greg and his son Jordan. They are already planning their big fish fry and will be back to fish. Nothing like smiling clients when they are reeling in a big crappie. That’s hard to top my friends. They ended the day with 86 Crappie!!!

Tons of big fish today. Fishing submerged timber as long as it is in 14 foot of water I think you will be ok. With fish being from 10 to 16 foot down. We drop BoneHead Tackle Stump Bugs in Night Stick and Palestine Special over the side of boat today. And remember to stay on the move.

Mark, you are a remarkable fella! And seem to be a most competent crappie guide! I really enjoy reading your posts and seeing all of those big fish! I’m really glad that the Lord has blessed you in your endeavors. I look forward to the day when I can book a trip with 3 Nails! Good luck and Gods speed!

Great job and great story, Mark. I fish alone most of the time and usually catch a fair amount of fish, but every once in a while a friend or family member asks if they can go with me. I'm always willing to take them, but I feel an incredible amount of pressure to get them on crappie when I do. I can't imagine having your job. You guys live in that world day in and day out. Good work!
