Took my Grand Cherokee in to All American because it wasn't blowing cold air from the passenger side or rear vents. After about seven weeks (yep, seven weeks) and a $190 diagnostics charge, they wanted $2200 to replace the blend door actuator (not sure if that included the $190 fee). I just told the guy the car isn't worth it, I'm coming to get it. After watching a youtube video, I ordered the part for $34.10 which included two day shipping. I installed it in about an hour. My A/C works great.
Unbelievable.

Not one bit surprised. I had to do the same thing on my old Silverado and the dealership wanted like $500 to do it. I paid $30 to rock auto and did it in about half an hour. Silly that these guys get away with so much.

Rockauto and YouTube are a vehicle owners best friends.

Common issue with Jeep products. One of the reasons I got rid of daughters Liberty. Sometimes I miss the old days when replacing a heater core or accessing the blend do ok r meant removing the glove box door.

How about $400.00 to R&R a windshield washer tank.
Part was $35.00 and hour labor for me to remove and install.

Labor rates usually run about $100/hour and they pad their hours majorly. On top of that, most dealerships and shops jack up the price on the parts. Got quoted $350 for a coil replacement on an f-150, that part is $65 and I’ve done it in a parking lot of an auto parts store in about 10 minutes. Just shows you how much money these places are making.

How do you think they afford those fancy showrooms with waterfalls and Starbucks coffee. I would rather buy NEW from a dealer who's office is an Acton Trailer with a window unit. I feel less violated that way.
