Dicks has their Daiwa Samunal X Spinning Combo on sale for $19.98. They also had plenty of soft plastics on sale from a wide variety of different companies.

Have always used the Shakespeare Combos. I do have a couple of Zebco Combos open face spinning reels that I picked up at Walmart a couple of years ago for $12.99 apiece. Have used them a lot and have caught plenty of BIG fish with them. Always keep my eyes open for a good ultralight combo sale.

There will be some very good sales on fishing tackle coming up late summer and during the fall! Stores will be making room for their 2020 spring fishing season!

I just bought two combos from Dicks last week for my sister's grandkids. Was very impressed with the selection they had (first time ever in a Dicks store  ) for ultralight gear for little kids or adults. Ended up with the Berkley Cherrywood HD Black Max spinning for the girl and Shakespeare Micro Series spinning for youngest boy. Got two more from Academy that I put together for the two older boys that have been fishing for a while, 2500 Pfluger President spinning on All Star 6' Dock Shooters. Had more fun shopping than I have had in a long time. May have to get a Pfluger President for myself.

Icon...Good choice. The Pflueger Presidents are hands down the best small spinning reels I have ever used. They are on all my ultra lite rods.

There will be some very good sales on fishing tackle coming up late summer and during the fall! Stores will be making room for their 2020 spring fishing season! Totally Agree! Seems that during this time just about every bait is on sale not to mention a lot rod/reel combos!
