next friday I am driving down to austin to meet up with some friends from college, driving from fort worth, have a few hours to stop at a lake and fish on the way down. Which lake would you recommend, been to whitney before and like it. I know belton and stillhouse are close to 35 and of course I can drive all the way down and fish lady bird or travis, which do you do and why.

If you do I would recommend the MCC ramp, the Brazos park east ramp has a bad reputation for theft, public housing isn't far from there, they have hit me before. Or just go to lake waco and use one of the gated corp ramps.

With that info the Brazos would actually be one of your best bank fishing choices. The McLennan County Community College(MCCC) ramp is actually on the Bosque River just upstream from the Brazos but lots of bank access along both rivers in Cameron Park. Just upstream from the MCCC ramp is Lake Waco dam which has some bank fishing on the river which was on fire back when Lake Waco was releasing their flood waters. [Linked Image]
