Lake Fork Anglers Major League Fishing format results from 8/1/19 out of the Minnow Bucket
08/01/19 10:18 PM
Lake Fork Anglers Hard Core (Major League Fishing format) is pretty cool getting to count every fish you catch.
As described below section 1 is all of Big Caney, Section 2 is from where section 1 ends and goes north to the FM 515 West bridge. Section 3 is everything from the 515 w bridge north.
Like the real TV show every fish over 10" counts. You must catch 6 LB + in one of the qualifying, and fish at least 6 tournaments to move into the semi-final. We set it low so most of our members would make to the second level. But there is three ways to qualify.
August 1st we fished section 3. It started out around 75 with a light ssw breeze . We are now fishing our summer hours. 6 AM until noon to save our old brains from frying in the hot sun. Registration began at 5:45 AM and fishing started at 6:00 AM.
Fishing was tough today for NEARLY EVERYONE but at least one angler caught them good and with a 25 1/8" over NEW PERSONAL BEST!.
The winners catching all of their fish using c-rigs, t-rigs, wacky rigs and chicken rigs.
Most of todays bass were caught in 10 feet or less again today.
First place went to Dennis Bubinas with 3 bass for 2.70 LB. with a lunker of 1.21 LB caught on a T-rig trick worm.
Second place went to Randy Bunch of Lake Fork with 1 bass with BOATER lunker of 2.49 LB. .
Third place went to Gary Pardini of Tyler with 1 fish for 2.25 LB.
Fourth place went to Bob Roberts of Longview with 3 bass for 2.20 LB with a .79 LB lunker caught on a c-rig.
Fifth place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs with 1 bass for 1.82 LB.
First place went to Bob Lambert of Yantis with 4 bass for 12.02 LB. with THE co-angler lunker of 9.91 LB on a Texas rigged trick worm.
Second place went to Steve McWilliams of Alba with 3 bass 5.81 LB with a 4.41 LB lunker.
Third place went to Chuck Roy of Yantis with 3 bass for 3.45 with a 2.13 LB lunker on a wacky rigged senko.
Fourth place went to Ken Keilbas of Arlington with 2 bass for 3.10 LB with a 2.13 LB lunker.
Fifth place went to Tom Thompson of Alba with 1 bass for 2.31 LB.
Except for Bob Lambert this is the worse results of any tournament in the last 4 years.
28 Total fish were caught today with 9 skunks.
For info on fishing this tournament and others put on by the Lake Fork Anglers contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or PM me on here. We have openings for co-anglers right now in our 50 member club.. This is a club that fishes only on Thursday daytime. Dues are $5 a year. The money winners explain their techniques and baits for the benefit of the other members at the weighin.
All of our tournaments are priced for seniors as follows. $15 entry Payback of $12. Optional lunker pool 100% payback of $5. Optional 100% payback side pot for $10 per person.
In addition to this format that we call "Hard Core" we also fish our regular every other Thursday tournament all at Lake Fork on a draw style fishing. All of our tournaments "paper" the bass and slot fish count.
If you are as "Hard Core" as some of us you can fish 50 Thursdays a year like we do. And then Opens on the weekend. But you only really have to fish 8 regular LFA tournaments to maintain membership.
Hey we are seniors and we are supposed to be doing something to keep us healthy and our minds sharp and get some vitamin D. LOL At least that is what you need to tell your wife.
