Looking for a new 1/2 oz(ish) jig rod / big shakey head rod. My budget is preferably under $200, but I've got my eye on the Alpha Angler Hitter or Zilla (its $250)
Does anyone have experience with this rod? Can you recommend other good Jig rods on my budget?

Dobyns Sierra 735. I don't know anything about the rods you mentioned so I can't help you there. Sorry

They dont make them anymore since bass pro took over but if you can find a 7 3 heavy cabelas XML Bass rod, it is an amazing jig rod

Just bought a Falcon Amistad. Very similar to my Dobyns Sierra 734 and 735 just lighter slightly. Going to get a Megabass Orochi Braillist for Jigs. Some like it better than the GLX. We will see. s

I would take a look at the castaway skeleton V2 Todd Faircloth pitching and flipping rod. They have them marked down on their website due to new models coming out. Regular 189.00 marked down to 129.00. I picked up a couple of them earlier this year and that is all I want to fish with now. Does t seem like Castaway gets any love here but they are the most durable rods I have ever used. Have a few that are 20+ years old that have been put through the paces and never even busted an eye on them.
