I�m heading to the trinity tomorrow to target gar. Launching from loop 12 ramp. I�ll be using cut bait. I�ve only been able to catch long nose (which is pretty awesome) but I�m really wanting to go for alligator gar. I haven�t been out there since last summer. Any tips???

Nice fish! I've only had a few Alligator Gar and they were all sightfished. I've heard the big boys really like the slack areas of the river, let your bait drift under a float until it stops in one and that should be the sweet spot. Good luck!
