A couple of my friends had similar experiences with them as well.

On a side note, that "Swim Area" is something new that was put in. I'm curious if that is even legal. I know they put that in themselves, and doubt they got any type of permission before installing it.

I bet their bluff is called after this post. I once had a dock owner try to run me off after their dock was 3 feet out of the water. As if they owned the land once the water fell.... they had a fence that stopped at their acreage. My response is was that is why their fence stopped there. When approached by a dock owner I try to be as polite as possible but and courteous to their boats or property. If people are fishing or swimming around them I will go way out of my way to avoid them. But if a disgruntled land owner is just watching to see if I get within a few feet of their dock they are looking for trouble... most of the time they find trouble

I sent the photos to a couple of old redneck boys who live on the lake who are eager to come to the get-together and accept his meeting on the bank.

It sure would be funny to watch.

I bet LCRA gets to him before long though. One of those poles into one of those high dollar Cobalts and it will be a phone call.

If I'm looking at it correctly, it's even visible on google maps satellite view.

Yes it is. You can see it from the street view from on top of the bridge as well

Here is a shot from google earth with GPS coordinates. You can see the buoy line they have out and those are steel pipes anchored

Thanks for the info on Texas Sportsman's Rights, but I'm not so sure about calling the cops. Last year on Lake Travis, I was fishing a dock for crappie. A guy came down, some kind of caretaker I think, and told me to get away from the dock or he would call the sheriff. I suggested he do so, thinking that the sheriff would support my right to fish in public waters. I waited for the sheriff's boat (about 30 minutes), but when the boat arrived with two deputies, I was threatened with a ticket for trespassing. When I tried (politely) to explain that I had the right to fish in public waters, the lead deputy reluctantly agreed, but said if my boat as much as accidentally touched a dock, I would be trespassing. I was intimidated by the two uniformed, armed deputies even though I knew I was right. I could now kick my butt for not thinking to video the encounter. I haven't been back to that dock so I guess the land owner's strategy worked.
