Thinking about heading to Benbrook in the morning. Are there any hazards I need to be aware of? Also, where’s the best place to launch?

Only one ramp open, Benbrook Marina off 377. Lots of stumps and trees are starting to show now as the water is dropping. Mid lake is fine to run, just be careful on east and south east side. Been really crowded last two weekends.

Many years ago it was pretty bad, I take it they never fixed the craters... I am talking like 15 years ago when I lived in Benbrook and fished it weekly.

The marina is an absolute disaster, I assume it's some lease arrangement, it cant possibly make any money to speak of so nothing is going to get fixed. It's an eyesore and should be put out of its misery.

I think the other issue with the parking lot is everytime it floods, makes it worse. I know they have tried to make it better by filling in the holes with gravel, but it will flood and wash that way. You'd think in the summer months they'd make enough money to some what make it better, but guess not.

With all the new homes on the east/southeast side of the lake now, I wish someone would open rocky creek marina back up!!! The crappie barge too! Could be a very nice area kinda like twin points on EM if someone put the money into it and ran it with pride and professionalism.

Lake drops too much in the summer for a marina to stay in business. A few years ago there was talk of a deep water marina being built where the pier is. They were going to have to build a break water partition to protect it. If that ever happened then it could probably make it, if it could survive the floods.
